Privacy

This site runs without any third party analytics, without advertising and without tracking cookies. Nothing on it is shared with an advertising network or a social platform. What follows is the complete list of what is collected, why, where it is kept and for how long.

Who is responsible

Visit counting

Every page view is counted by this server itself. No external service is involved and no cookie is set. Each view records the page, the host of the referring page if there is one, a country code, the browser, the operating system, the language setting, a device class and the screen width.

Your IP address is not stored. It is resolved to a country code while the request is being handled and then discarded. So that a returning visitor is not counted twice on the same day, the address and the browser identification are combined into a hash with a random value that changes every day. The next day that value is gone, which makes the hash worthless for recognising anyone again. Counting data is kept for 730 days.

Contact form

Name, email address, phone number, subject and message. Before anything is sent, a six digit code goes to the address you entered and has to be typed back. That ties every message to an address that exists and keeps automated mass messages out.

The message itself is not stored on the server. It is handed to the mail server and lives from then on only in the mailbox, like any other email. The technical header of that email carries the IP address the message came from.

Appointment requests

Name, email address, phone number, the format you chose, the duration, your preferred times and the text describing your request. The email address is confirmed by a one time code in the same way as above.

This one is stored, on the server behind a password, because the decision needs it: the request has to be readable until it is accepted or declined, and for a short while afterwards in case there are questions. It is deleted automatically 180 days after it arrives at the latest, and on request at any time. If the appointment is confirmed, the date, your name, the contact details you gave and your request are also entered into a private calendar application that runs on the same server and is not open to anyone else. That entry stays as long as the appointment does, like any other entry in a calendar.

Please keep the description general. It helps to know the subject matter, but nothing confidential belongs in a web form.

If you choose a video call, the confirmation contains a link to a meeting room at an outside provider, by default meet.jit.si. The call itself does not run on this server and I have no influence on what that provider records. The room is created for your appointment alone, its address is not published anywhere, and it needs no account. If you would rather not use it, say so in your request and we will find another way.

Client area

There is a separate, unlisted area for people who already work with me. It is reachable only with a personal login and is not linked anywhere on this site. Its contents and its rules are agreed individually.

Where the data is

The server is rented from Exoscale (Akenes SA, Switzerland) and administered by me. Email is sent through Hostpoint AG, Switzerland. The database used to turn an IP address into a country code is a local copy provided by DB-IP, so that lookup never leaves the server. Fonts and images are served from this server too. No content delivery network, no map service, no embedded video.

Cookies

Visiting this site sets no cookie. A session cookie is set only after a login to the administration area or the client area, and only for the person logging in.

Your rights

Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection you may ask what data about you is held, have it corrected if it is wrong, and have it deleted. One email is enough and no reason is needed. For appointment requests, deletion is immediate. For counting data there is nothing to delete individually, because nothing in it points back to a person.

Changes

This notice describes the state of 22 September 2026. If the site starts collecting something else, this page is updated before that happens.
